A Specialized Product Design for Distance Education with Design Thinking Methods

The Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which has affected the whole world, has caused the transition to distance education systems in our country and in many countries. In addition to the need for internet, various hardware tools were needed for the implementation of distance education. It is to design an online, collaborative, project-based environment and product on the basis of constructivist learning in order to develop the design-oriented thinking skills of teachers and to test the effectiveness of the application. In the study, as data collection tools, the design thinking scale, the material development guide evaluation scale, and the needs of educators, students and parents who have a connection with distance education were applied. In the research, answers to five sub-problems were sought. The Design Thinking (TOD) steps were followed by using the data obtained from the scale, and as a result, the prominent findings in the distance education process were: the quality of the developed team products and the difference in scientific dimension compared to peer and didactic evaluation; At the end of the process, it has been observed that contributions to development such as being able to produce their own products, a roadmap and project ideas for design-oriented thinking, interdisciplinary and teamwork, and increased self-confidence in the use of digital technology have been obtained.

Tüm dünyayı etki altında bırakan Coronavirüs (Covid-19) pandemisi, ülkemizde ve birçok ülkede uzaktan eğitim sistemlerine geçiş yapılmasına neden olmuştur. Uzaktan eğitimin uygulanabilmesi için internet gereksinimin yanısıra çeşitli donanım araçlarına ihtiyaç duyulmuştur. Öğretmenlerin tasarım odaklı düşünme becerisini geliştirmek üzere yapılandırmacı öğrenme tabanında çevrimiçi, işbirlikli, proje tabanlı bir ortam ve ürün tasarlamak ve uygulamanın etkililiğini sınamaktır. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak tasarım odaklı düşünme ölçeği, materyal geliştirme kılavuzu değerlendirme ölçeği, uzaktan eğitimle bağlantısı olan eğitmenler, öğrenciler ve velilerin ihtiyaçlarının tespit edilmesi için uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada beş alt probleme cevap aranmıştır. Ölçekten elde edilen veriler kullanılarak Tasarım Odaklı Düşünme (TOD) adımları izlenmiş ve sonuç olarak uzaktan eğitim sürecinde Öne çıkan bulgular: geliştirilen takım ürünlerinin niteliği, akran ve öğretici değerlendirmeye göre bilimsellik boyutunda farklılık oluşturduğu saptanmış; süreç sonunda kendi ürünlerini üretebilme, tasarım odaklı düşünmeye dair yol haritası ve proje fikirleri, disiplinlerarası ve takım çalışması, dijital teknoloji kullanımına yönelik özgüven artışı gibi gelişime dair katkılar elde edildiği görülmüştür.
